SPC's Photography Camp helps children gain an overall knowledge of the technique and art of photography through a general understanding of the camera, light, composition and other photographic principles. Children will learn about 35 mm and 120 mm color/black and white film formats with traditional darkroom printing, as well as digital photography and printing. Each day provides a specific photographic activity including collage, alternative processes, nature and documentary photography that will engage students’ artistic eye, while teaching them the technical fundamentals. We’ll develop a dialogue about art through constructive discussion, and create a portfolio of images from the week’s work to understand the start-to-finish process of making art.

The Serenbe Photography Center Summer Camp is available on a weekly or daily basis, lunch is provided each day and the hours are 10-5pm, with drop off between 9:30 -10 am and pick-up between 5-5:30pm. There is no limit to the number of campers. We offer a discount on multiple registrations for children from the same household at $200/week per child.

The week begins with and introduction to the fundamentals of photography; campers create photographs using elements of shape, color, pattern, composition, and lighting. Throughout the rest of the week children participate in many activities in traditional and digital mediums and printmaking. Campers will be exposed to traditional b&w and traditional color photography, digital photography and printing, and fun alternative processes. We'll also spend time exploring Serenbe and making new friends!

SPC's Photography Summer Camp is taught by experienced photographers who love working with kids of all ages. Call the Center at 770-463-9098 with questions or to register.
